According to The Holltwood Reporter, Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) will be joining ABC’s Agents of SHIELD as Bobbi Morse. A character that comic book fans know to be the alter ego of Mockingbird. Palicki is slated to appear in the fifth episode of next season, and there is a possibility that she could return for more episodes after making her debut.
The possibility of Mockingbird joining the cast was first teased in July at Comic-Con when Patton Oswalt, who plays Billy Koenig and Sam Koenig, confirmed that Life Model Decoys exist in the SHIELD universe and suggested that Morse could appear in season two.
Palicki joins a growing roster of guest stars for Agents of SHIELD‘s secondseason. Kyle MacLachlan is set to appear as Skye’s (Chloe Bennet) father; Lucy Lawless will appear as SHIELD veteran Isabelle Hartly; Reed Diamond will be Hydra villain Daniel Whitehall (aka Kraken); Nick Blood will be a mercenary that Coulson reaches out to for help; Henry Simmons will be agent Alphonso “Mac” Mackenzie; and Simon Kassianides will appear as Bakshi.
The actress has some experience with comic book productions.She was tapped to play Wonder Woman in a series that was being created by David E. Kelley for NBC. However, that series was dumped before the pilot was completed. And she played Nadia in the Aquaman pilot for TheWB that never went to series. She also played Lady J in the G.I. Joe: Retaliation movie, and she will reprise the role for G.I. Joe 3.
Agents of SHIELD returns Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
