Walking Dead Kills Record

AMC’s hit zombie series The Walking Dead dropped another victim. The network has announced that the second season’s finale set a ratings record for cable television by drawing 9 million viewers. The mid-season premiere was the previous record holder with 8.1 million viewers. The season 2 finale was up more than 50 percent in total viewers compared with its season 1 finale. Including repeats at 11:30 p.m., this latest episode drew 10.5 million total viewers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the season 2 finale drew in 6 million 18-49 year olds, 5.3 million adults 25-54, and 3.2 million in the 18-34 demographics. Overall the series drew over two million more viewers from last week’s episode, when 6.9 people tuned in to watch the final showdown between Rick and Shane.

Relive some of the highlights from the episode, and look ahead with the cast to the next season, as we anxiously await for the 16-episode third season of The Walking Dead to shamble across AMC this fall.
